Kitchen Manager

As our Kitchen Manager, you will fully own the execution, team leadership, and administrative health of our kitchen. You are the ultimate guardian of our food safety standards, inventory controls, and staff training. Your success is measured by the consistency of our plates, the cleanliness of our line, the morale of your team, and the health of our kitchen margins.

Responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership & Training: Recruit, schedule, and train BOH staff. Create a positive, accountable team culture focused on speed, accuracy, and mutual respect.

  • Systems Execution: Strictly enforce established recipes, portion controls, and plating specs to ensure every guest receives a flawless experience.

  • Food Safety & Compliance: Maintain and audit an airtight FoodSafe/HACCP program. Ensure all daily temperature logs, cooling logs, and sanitation records are meticulously tracked.

  • Cleanliness & Maintenance: Own and enforce a rigorous daily, weekly, and monthly deep-cleaning schedule. Ensure the kitchen is always "health-inspector ready."

  • Inventory & Cost Control: Manage ordering, waste tracking, and inventory levels with local farm vendors. Keep Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and labor costs strictly aligned with monthly budgets.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, BOH Supervisor, or Lead Cook in a structured, systems-driven kitchen environment (corporate casual or high-volume cafe experience is highly valued).

  • Certifications: Valid FoodSafe Level 1 required (Level 2/Advanced FoodSafe is a strong asset).

  • The Management Mindset: Strong organizational skills with a passion for checklists, procedures, and order. You prefer structural consistency over menu experimentation.

  • People Skills: Proven ability to train entry-level cooks, communicate calmly under pressure, and manage labor schedules effectively.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 50 lbs (fresh farm crates).

Wage: $25-$30/hr depending on experience
